Shuttle Storm ’26
Privacy policy.
Last updated October 11, 2026
Shuttle Storm Badminton Club (“we”) runs the Shuttle Storm ’26 tournament. This policy covers this website, shuttlestorm.adawar.org, and tournament registration at badminton.adawar.org. Questions or requests: ashishdawar09@gmail.com.
This website
This site has no forms and no accounts. It collects:
- Visit statistics (Google Analytics). Pages viewed, approximate location (city and country), device and browser type, how you found us, and clicks on the Register buttons. Google Analytics does not store your IP address.
- Advertising (Google Ads). We advertise the tournament with Google Ads. If you reach us through one of our ads, Google Ads cookies record that click so we can see whether the ad led to a registration. We don’t use personalised ads or remarketing, and Google Ads never receives your name or contact details.
- Hosting and security (Cloudflare). Your IP address and request details pass through Cloudflare to deliver pages and block attacks.
- Fonts and code libraries. Your browser downloads fonts from Google Fonts and scripts from cdnjs and jsDelivr. Those services see your IP address when it does.
Tournament registration
When you register, we collect:
- Your name, email address and phone number.
- Your age on the tournament date, and whether you’re claiming the UFV student rate.
- The category you enter.
- For doubles: your partner’s name, email address and phone number. Please get your partner’s permission before entering them.
- How you paid: your e-Transfer reference number, or the status and amount of a card payment.
- Anything you write in the comments box.
Waiver acceptance. When you accept the regulations and the waiver, we keep a record of it: your name, age, typed signature, a parent or guardian’s name for players under 19, the waiver version you accepted, the time, and your IP address and browser type. This record is our evidence that the waiver was agreed to. In doubles, we email your partner a link to accept the waiver themselves.
Card payments happen on Stripe’s checkout page. Your card number goes to Stripe and never reaches us.
We use this information to run the draw and schedule, contact you about your matches (including court-assignment emails), and confirm payments and refunds.
Public tournament pages show player names, teams, draws and match results.
Optional features collect more only if you use them:
- Match notifications. If you turn them on, we store your browser’s push address so we can send match alerts.
- Voice assistant. If you tap the microphone, your question is sent to Cloudflare’s AI service to produce an answer.
The registration app also sends technical error reports to Sentry, with names and emails removed, so we can fix bugs. On the registration page, Google Analytics records that a registration was completed, the payment method and the amount, and shares that count with Google Ads. It does not record your name or contact details.
Photos at the event
Photos are taken during the tournament. The organizers may use them for illustration, fundraising, advertising or publication, as set out in the competition regulations. If you’d like a photo of you or your child removed from our channels, email us.
Children
Categories start at age 8. If a player is under 13, a parent or guardian must complete the registration using their own email address and phone number. For any player under 19, a parent or guardian must accept the waiver.
Who processes your information
We don’t sell your information, and we never give your name or contact details to advertisers. These service providers handle it for us:
- Cloudflare: hosting for this site, security, and the voice assistant
- Vercel: hosting for the registration app
- Supabase: the registration database
- Stripe: card payments
- Resend: email delivery
- Google: Analytics, Ads (ad-click and registration counts only) and Fonts
- Sentry: error reports
Some of these providers store data in the United States, where local law may allow authorities to access it.
How long we keep it
We keep registration details while we need them to run the tournament and answer questions afterwards, then delete them. Payment records are kept as long as Canadian tax rules require, and waiver records as long as a claim could be made about the event. Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets the _ga cookies to count returning visitors, and Google Ads sets _gcl cookies when you arrive from one of our ads. Visitors in the EU, UK and Switzerland are asked first, and both stay off unless they accept. Your choice is saved in your browser. You can change it at any time: .
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or withdraw your consent, by emailing ashishdawar09@gmail.com. We will reply within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
